November 15, 2005 Meeting

Tuesday, November 15th was the groups final monthly meeting for the year of 2005.

President Leslie Evans conducted the meeting covering many topics and wraping up the years business. Over 2225 postcards were collected from area schools, churches and various community centers. Congratulations to everyone for all your effort.

Leslie has requested that anyone who can help with the final boxing and labeling of care packages to come to her home on Monday Nov. 21st at 5:00. Call Leslie for directions.

Saturday, December 10th will be the year-end social gathering from 11:45 to 1:45 at Marge Greenfield's home in Reno - if needed, call Marge for more information.

Other business included the election of new officers. Leslie, after many years of serving as president has chosen to step down and in her place Barbara Clark was nominated and elected as the new president starting in 2006. Also, Cheryl Gray who has served along side Leslie for all these years as the secretary is also steping down - but - fortunatly has agreed to aid the new secretary - who is still yet to be determined. Marge Greenfield has agreed to continue her position as treasurer into the new year. Thank you all.

Other new positions created for 2006 include: The Blue to Gold Star Liaison Group. Voulunteers include Paula Fleming, Marge Greenfield and Mary Abbott (alternate). Thank you ladies, a tough job - God Bless!

Blue Star Mothers is a National Organization formalized on March 8, 1942.
However the blue star flag was created in 1917 and people hung it in their windows to denote that a member of the family was serving in the armed forces.
We are the Northern Nevada Chapter. Nevada Chapter #2.
